The RTC bus system is actually comprised of several different transportation options:
- The Citizens Area Transport, or CAT Bus
- Metropolitan Area Express (MAX)
- The Deuce double-deck bus on the Las Vegas Strip
- ACE Downtown Connector
Bus Fares
The CAT Bus primarily services the non-tourist areas of Las Vegas and Henderson. One-way Residential CAT fares are $1.75 and can be purchased on the bus or at a ticket vending machine.
24-Hour Residential Passes are $4 and are good only on residential routes and MAX. A 24-Hour All-Access pass is $7 and accesses all Deuce & residential routes. The 24-hour period begins with purchase on the bus or at a ticket vending machine.
One Way Reduced Fares are $0.75 and are for riders 6-16 years and senior citizens 62 years and older. 24-Hour Reduced Residential Pass is $2 and is useable on all Deuce & residential routes. Persons with disabilities and Medicare eligible must present a reduced fare photo I.D. card to the vehicle operator to be eligible for reduced fares. Can be purchased on the bus or at a ticket vending machine.
30-Day Passes are $55 per month, and 30-Day Reduced Passes are $25 per month with a reduced fare ID card. The 30-day period begins on the date of first use and can be purchased at the Downtown Transportation Center and the South Strip Transfer Terminal, at ticket vending machines, or online.

There are 360 vehicles that run 46 routes and stops, and as of January 2009 several routes have been modified or removed, so be sure to check before you plan a ride.

Rules of Conduct
The CAT bus does have "transit rules of conduct" such as using exact change, no pets (other than service animals), passengers must be fully dressed (shirts and shoes), no smoking, and no unsecured food or beverages.
