The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is located approximately 17 miles west of Las Vegas and encompasses 197,000 acres within the Mojave Desert.

Visitors can enjoy a one-way 13-mile scenic drive, a Visitor Center which offers helpful information and interpretation of the area. The facility also offers ongoing hikes and interpretive programs and a book and gift store operated by the Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association, a non-profit organization.

The scenic drive is a narrow, winding drive where you'll often find cyclists, joggers and depending when you go, traffic. Over 1.25 million people visit Red Rock Canyon each year. Drivers are advised to follow the speed limit signs.

The scenic drive is open, generally, from 6:00 a.m. until dusk. The actual closing time of the scenic drive varies with the seasons.
