Water
Whether you are new to the Las Vegas Valley, setting up water in your own name for the first time or moving to a new residence, getting water can be a giant pain. This guide will help simplify your life by providing you with one place to find all the info you'll need to start your new life in Las Vegas.

Few cities on Earth are more beholden to their access to clean water than Las Vegas. Without the Lake Mead Reservoir formed by the Hoover Dam, and a few deep water aquifers, Las Vegas would quickly return to the barren desert from whence it came. The Las Vegas Valley Water District is in charge of assuring that we Las Vegans get the water we need. You can get new service online, call the number above or head down to their office.
You may be required to provide a deposit. For residential properties, the deposit is $150 or 2.5 times the highest monthly bill, whichever is greater, during a 12-month period. The deposit is due when you request service. You can also transfer exiting service online. Same day service is available for an additional $15 fee.
Las Vegas has strict watering guidelines and extensive incentives and rebates for lowering your water use. This has become increasingly important as more residents flock into the Las Vegas Valley and the area continues to labor under drought conditions.
