If you're out near Summerlin, enjoy the delicious buffet at the Red Rock. This kid-friendly, casual buffet offers a relaxed atmosphere that reflects the peaceful beauty of nearby Red Rock Canyon. Numerous cooking stations offer global cuisine, including healthy choices, so whether Mom prefers a Chinese menu or simple American fare, there's something for every palate here. And of course, desserts abound so you definitely won't leave hungry.

I do mention Aquae Sulis often, but every time I go, I get fantastic service and leave rejuvenated. Treat Mom to a mani/pedi here or maybe a soothing massage. With Mediterranean accents, the posh spa offers a wealth of luxuriating services to treat Mom to a special day. All aspects of the spa experience are pleasant - from sipping fruit-infused water in the waiting room to the rejuvenating garden waterfalls guests can enjoy in preparation of their spa treatment. Reservations definitely required.

If you're closer to the Strip, treat Mom to a fantastic spa day at Costa del Sur. The staff is amazing and the spa treats locals as specially as they do tourists. (There are even locals discounts). Mom will love the star treatment she'll get here.

5. Vosges Chocolate

After shopping at the Forum, you can pop into Vosges for some chocolate decadence. A host of gourmet and unique chocolates to satisfy any sweet tooth (and if your Mom is an adventurous one, try the bacon chocolate bar or a Tibetan goji berry bar with Himalayan sea salt - scrumptious!) Excellent packaging (which I'm a sucker for) and a fantastic variety of chocolately goodness makes for a fun Mother's Day treat.

6. ArtFest of Henderson

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 10-11, head to Water Street in Henderson and enjoy the annual ArtFest for an artsy Mother's Day experience. More than 200 selected fine artist displays from across the nation will be there in what is the biggest art festival in southern Nevada. Live musical entertainment includes jazz, folk, reggae, and light rock. Food and kids' activities make the day fun for everyone. Free parking and free admission. Visit www.888artfest.com

7. Jazz in the Park series featuring The Dirty Dozen Brass Band

Treat Mom to some sensational music on Saturday, May 10th at the Clark County Amphitheater (500 S. Grand Central Parkway) The Dirty Dozen Brass Band are musical powerhouses and will make for a memorable Mother's Day experience. You may pack a picnic and blankets and low back chairs are allowed. Food and drink are available for purchase on site. The concert begins at 8:00pm. No pets allowed.
