Bio: Angel Vasquez is the former director of the Nebraska Mexican American Commission and currently runs a hotline designed to help those learning English as a Second language. With a background in education he not surprisingly sees our schools as the most pressing issue facing the city today.
Platform: He is not a fan of Oscar Goodman's downtown initiatives referring to the redevelopment as "another Neonopolis-like fiasco." He also wants to the city to co-sponsor charter schools. This platform will help him gain interest, but it also likely to be the issue that dooms his campaign as those who favor charter schools are also, generally, the ones against using public funds to support them.
Why He's Running?: I couldn't find a quote from Mr. Vasquez, so feel free to recommend one if you find one.
Website: None Found, but I did find this number (702) 561-6438 which had a bilingual "Please leave a message after the tone" message.
