While Las Vegas is known as the one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world you and your family call it home. Some highlights include, Elton's John's triumphant return to Caesar's Palace, Journey at the MGM, The Lord of the Rings Symphony at the Orleans, Jimmy Buffett at the MGM and perhaps most exciting of all is Roger Daltry's performance of The Who's Tommy, a performance that has never been done live.

Each year the City of Henderson and The Las Vegas Shakespeare Company presents a series of free performances of some of the Bard's most beloved plays. This year features one of the most beloved comedies of all time, A Midsummer's Night Dream with four scheduled performances on October 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd at parks around the Valley. Shows start at 7:00 PM and best of all they're FREE.
From May though October The District at Green Valley Ranch hosts The Outdoor Picture Show, a family friendly weekend movie showcase. Movie run on Friday and Saturday beginning at 7:00 or later and are always free. This months featured movies include The Incredibles (PG) on Saturday, October 1st, Rango (PG) on Friday, October 7th, The Haunted Mansion (PG) on Saturday, October 8th, Mars Needs Moms (PG) on Friday, October 14th, Hoodwinked Too (PG) on Saturday, October 15th, Ghostbusters 2(PG) on Friday, October 21st, Beetlejuice (PG) on Saturday, October 22nd, Casper (PG) on Friday, October 28th and Monster House (PG) on Saturday, October 29th.
If you love wine and enjoy the good feeling engendered by helping out a good cause that the New Vista Wine Walks are for you. This October features two of these amazing events, one on Saturday October 1st at the Villages at Lake Las Vegas and the other on Saturday October 22nd at Town Square Las Vegas. A guided wine tour and numerous tastings are included. Tickets are $30 per person or 2 for $50. Available here.
Every month on the first Friday this legendary arts and entertainment festival dominates Fremont Street and the surrounding Downtown area. This month's First Friday takes place on Friday October 7th from 6:00 to 10:00 PM with numerous after parties and pub crawls. While there fly high above the street with Fremont Street Flightlinez and grab a pint at the Griffin.
The Symphony celebrates 25 years with a premiere event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Chilean Composer and Conductor Rodolfo Fernandez will usher in a new season with numerous Latin compositions. As always the event is FREE and the main theater is located at the Clark County Library on E. Flamingo.
Fresh 52's Farmers and Artisans Market
Bringing fresh produce, bread and art to Summerlin 52 Saturdays and Sundays a year, this farmers market is a must experience. The markets take place on Saturdays at the Tivoli Village from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Sundays from 8:30 AM to 2:00PM at Sansone Park Place. Take the kids and grandparents and make it a family event.
The same folks who bring you The Outdoor Picture Show now bring you free concerts at The District at Green Valley Ranch. Every Friday and Saturday night from May through October these free concerts at The Courtyard feature local and regional acts from a wide variety of musical styles. Concerts usually run from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Check listing for schedule and performer.
