Though it would be difficult to find a place to ski in Las Vegas proper, there is a ski resort just a few minutes north on the US95 that many Las Vegas residents may not even know about.

The Las Vegas Ski and Snow Resort is located in Lee Canyon on Mt Charleston. Turn left on Highway 156 just after the Durango exit and follow the road 17 miles to the resort (the road ends at the resort so you can't miss it).

The resort itself offers many amenities to visitors. The Big Horn Cafe offers a variety of meals and snacks, hot and cold beverages and a full-service bar.

At the Sports Shop you can purchase anything from sunglasses to parkas, and they can outfit you with rental equipment.

Lift tickets are reasonably priced, starting at $40 for full day passes for adults and $30 for children and seniors. Season passes are also available for purchase and can be bought online.

Be sure to check weather and road conditions before heading up. Often after a significant snowfall the roads up Mt Charleston are only accessible with snow tires or chains.

To get to the ski resort from Las Vegas, take U.S. Highway 95 north to Highway 156, Lee Canyon. Follow Highway 156 for 17 miles to the resort. The highway ends at Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort.

The city office is located at 7501 Tule Springs Road, #110, off of Durango and I95, inside The Village at Centennial Hills. The Las Vegas office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and can be reached by calling (702)645–2754.
