February Concert Calendar

Las Vegas is home of some of the best concert venues around. From the Joint at Hard Rock to the Boulevard Pool at Cosmopolitan, top notch performers abound at cutting edge concert halls. Every month I'll be listing the best concerts to come through Las Vegas. February is dominated by the hell raising Motley Crue whose residency at The Joint at Hard Rock is the must see concert of the early part of 2012. Rock was once rock, even if the boys in Crue wore more makeup than the "models" on your average sidewalk vendor "flick flick card."

Las Vegas Animal Shelters

Millions of Americans have pets. Be they dog, cat, bird or other, animals have long been considered members of the family. Yet, despite this hundreds of thousands of pets end up in shelters every year and worse many end up being euthanized. Lack of funding, irresponsible and immature owners are often responsible, as is the lack of spaying and neutering.

Food Trucks in Las Vegas

Food Trucks rule. Not only are they hip, trendy and nouveau, but over the past couple of years have upped their game to compete, if not beat, more traditional non-wheeled food purveyors. In my first article on Las Vegas Food Trucks I tackled some of the more well known and diverse mobile food sellers. However, my tasty culinary research quickly led me to realize that I had barely tapped the surface of this most tasty restaurant sub-category.

Las Vegas Food Trucks

Las Vegas has some of the best food trucks anywhere. About three years ago the food truck revolution hit the Valley with delicious vengeance and the daily 9-5 grind grew a little less dreary because of them. The idea is old, mobile food trucks dispensing quick and tasty food. But my fiends, these are definitely not your father's food trucks.

Rising nearly 12,000 ft from the desert of Southern Nevada, Mt. Charleston is the king of the mountains that surround Las Vegas. This year round playground features hiking and camping int he spring, summer and fall and skiing in the winter. A relatively short 35 mile drive northwest of th Strip, Mt. Charleston feels like a world apart. Averaging 20 to 30 degrees cooler than the normal Las Vegas temperatures, it can be a respite from the midsummer heat waves that pour across the Strip.

Rules For Common Las Vegas Table Games

Whether you're a long term native of Las Vegas or new to the Valley gambling will likely be a part of your life. It is one of the things that makes life unique in Nevada and in Las Vegas in particular. I grew up in New Hampshire and the only betting I ever came across was Megabucks and the perennial $1 wager my father and I placed on the Super Bowl. While my travels brought me into contact with some forms of gambling noting came close to the culture shock of being able to toss a $10 bill into a poker machine at the local 7-11 while grabbing some milk. It took me a while to get the gist of gaming in this town, but with this guide to Table Game Rules you'll have a jump start that I never did.
