The Las Vegas 51s have brought minor league baseball to Southern Nevada since 1983 (though they were originally known as the Las Vegas Stars). Since their arrival in Las Vegas this Triple A team has been an affiliate of the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, and as of 2012, the New York Mets.

Named after the nearby conspiracy mecca Area 51 which inspired their gray alien mascot and logo. The 51s play at Cashman Field located on the North Las Vegas Strip and their season runs from early April until Early September. Tickets run about $20 and home games can hold just over 9,000 people.

Home games reward fans with exciting promo nights including Fleece Blanket Night, Value Menu Monday where numerous food items cost just a $1, 51s Alien Hat Night, and numerous fireworks nights, including July 4th's Fireworks Extravaganza.
