While Las Vegas is known as the one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world you and your family call it home. These monthly calendars will help you keep up on the annual festivals, movie and concert series, community events and other goings on that make living in Las Vegas such a rewarding experience.

Many of these vents are free of charge and most are family friendly. Times, locations and price are subject to change so always make sure to check the events website before making plans. Las Vegas Show Calendar

Use this handy reference to see show schedules for the best Las Vegas Shows in January

Some highlights this month include Absinthe at Caesar's Palace, The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage and Cirque du Soleil's the increasingly popular La Reve at Wynn.

Country Fresh Farmers Market

This Henderson farmers market staple now has two locations. The Thursday market runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is located at. 240 Water Street in downtown Henderson, NV in the Events Plaza and the Friday market runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is located at the at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway. Head down, grab some fresh produce, a home made jam or a spicy hot sauce.

Botanical Gardens Tour at Lake Las Vegas

If you love plants or tinkering in your garden or maybe you're an herb-o-phile who amazes your family with culinary delights, then the Botanical Gardens Tour at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson is for you. Starting each Sunday at 9 AM this expert guided tour of the extensive collection of plants is a must see. Say hi to Randy when you're there. Call 702.567.6000 for blackout dates.

First Fridays

Every month on the first Friday this legendary arts and entertainment festival dominates Fremont Street and the surrounding Downtown area. This month's First Friday takes place on Friday August 5th from 6:00 to 10:00 PM with numerous after parties and pub crawls. While there fly high above the street with Fremont Street Flightlinez and grab a pint at the Griffin.

Fresh 52's Farmers and Artisans Market

Bringing fresh produce, bread and art to Summerlin 52 Saturdays and Sundays a year, this farmers market is a must experience. The markets take place on Saturdays at the Tivoli Village from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Sundays from 8:30 AM to 2:00PM at Sansone Park Place. Take the kids and grandparents and make it a family event.

Consumer Electronics Show

Each year the CEOs, geeks and technological wizards behind the coming years greatest gadgets and tech descend on Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show, one of the largest conventions of the year. Want to see the new Playstation or the coolest new 3D TV, then CES is the pace to go. Tickets are hard to come by since the event is not open to the Average Joe, but hang at the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton) and you may get a glimpse of the future. January 10th - 13th.

Adopt A Pet

Take a drive down to the Tivoli Village on South Rampart Sunday the 15th between 11 AM and 2 PMand adopt a pet. Thousands of dogs and cats need good homes in Las Vegas and many of them will be in front of the Tivoli Village Dog House to meet you. whether you're a cat lover or a dog person you can make a difference and gain a friend for life.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade

This annual parade to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15th) journey up Fourth Street through downtown Las Vegas on Monday January 16th from 10 AM to sometime after 2 PM. Just part of the celebrations planned for King Week, the parade has long been a staple for town oft distracted by the less important things in life.

Rock and Roll Wine Tasting

One of the coolest things you can do in Las Vegas, the Rock and Roll wine Tasting pours some great vino each Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Hostile Grape at The M Resort. One of the best locals events in town, this complimentary wine tasting pairs fun and interesting wines with the Hostile Grape's fantastic rock and roll. The wines and the bands change weekly and as the saying goes this is not your grandmother's wine tasting. Bands take the stage at 8 PM and 10 PM. FREE.
