Memorial Day weekend arrives with a bang as the 2012 World Series of Poker starts today at the Rio with the Casino Employees Event where employees of casinos worldwide get treated like gold. Tomorrow will see the official start to the WSOP with a $1,500 No Limit Hold 'Em tourny where the luckly and talented winner will walk away with a WSOP gold bracelet and a spot in the tournament.
While most of us think of the World Series of Poker as the final event featuring the Phil Iveys and Daniel Negreanus of the world (neither have ever won the main event by the way) the WSOP is actually a series of 58 events that culminate in the Main Event every June and July with the occasional push back to October or November. This weekend marks teh beginning of those 58 days.
Rejoice Las Vegas, the WSOP is back.
