These unusual, and largely unknown facts are very important to share, because they can be a starting point for young people to begin to develop a sense of pride in their city.
Las Vegas is an easy target to criticize from within and from the outside. There is a misperception, due to unrealistic expectations that people carry in their minds when they relocate here from other places. Many of the same problems they encountered in their former place of residence, reemerge here, and they quite falsely wish to blame Las Vegas. Projection is easier than to accept personal accountability.
