Summer is fast approaching and if you're at all like me, and I know you are, summer means having fun. Even as a grown man, which I sometimes claim to be, I still get excited as summer approaches. Maybe its the long ingrained memories of summer vacation, or nicer (aka hotter) weather, or the pools, or vacations, or big summer movies etc. etc. etc. Likely it is all of these things. And sadly they all cost money.
Lucky for you I'm here to help. This is the first in a series of posts designed to help you enjoy all the shows, restaurants, outings and fun that Las Vegas has to offer WHILE saving money.
This is a longtime favorite from when I was a kid in New Hampshire. I remember the day every year when my Mom would come home with that year's The Entertainment Book. It always meant we were going out to eat, or going to see a movie or do something fun. I do not fib when I say at a time when my family was going through strife, both personal and economic, the Entertainment Book allowed us to have a bit of fun we likely wouldn't have been able to afford. I suspect a lot of you have similar memories.
The publishers of the Entertainment Book can rightfully say it "is widely recognized as the best coupon book on the market." The Book features hundreds of deals from 50% off at restaurants and attractions and 2 for 1 deals at local merchants on travel and even on groceries. With their current special, $12 for 12 hours (that's $17 of the normal price), the Entertainment Book will pay for itself within days. With 160 editions for cities and towns all over America, this book is not only great to get at home, but for any vacations you're planning. Of special interest are the Orlando and Orange County, CA editions.
Current deals include 10% off Old Navy, a free ticket to Matsuri or the Beatles Tribute Show and up to $200 in rebates from car rental agencies and hotel chains.
The folks at this helpful little site have dozens of great deals and unlike some other coupon sites they are easy to print and use. Some deals for May 2011 include a downloadable (pdf only sadly) Fremont Street Coupon Book, a steak deal at the Hard Rock and cheap beer at Hooters. While not nearly as extensive as the Entertainment Book it does have the advantage of being free.
