The most recent twist to the
Bellagio "biker bandit" case may be less dramatic than the heist itself, but it will clearly be heavily dramatized in the inevitable television movie.
The alleged bandit Anthony M. Carleo, dressed in prison blues, sat behind his defense attorney who petitioned the judge for a delay on the primary hearing. Carleo is being held without bail on charges of robbery with a deadly weapon charge and a charge of burglary with the use of a deadly weapon.
The scene must have seemed anticlimactic after the Ocean's Eleven style hullaballoo that has surrounded the case since it made national news on Dec 14th, 2010. Here's a roundup of the odd events of the case.
December 14th, 2010, the "biker bandit" walks into the Bellagio and makes away with $1.5 million in casino chips sparking much debate about how the robber, who seemingly made fools of Bellagio security, would unload the high value chips.
December 29th, 2010, the Bellagio announces that is will no longer use the $25,000 chips, which will make it slightly less convenient for high rollers to tote their winnings about.
26th, 2011, the "biker bandit" brags to a fellow online poker enthusiast about the heist, even providing several "modeling" shots of the $25,000 chips.
2nd, 2011, Anthony M. Carleo, the 29-year-old son of Las Vegas Municipal Court Judge George Assad, is arrested on the Bellagio floor after spending several nights gambling, selling chips and even staying at the casino he's robbed just over a month previously. Whether this says he was crazy, stupid or had guts of steel will likely come out as the trial unfolds.
February 7th, 2011, Carleo sees the court room for the first time where his lawyer secures a 15 day delay to the preliminary hearing.

Clearly, without a doubt this man is calling out…..I’d venture to guess he didn’t have the childhood his heart cried/yearned/needed …..seriously these types of cases to be found guilty and locked away is the worse answer in saving a human life…..
