The Libertarian Party has selected Las Vegas as the site of its national political convention in 2012, according to the Los Angeles Times. The Libertarians should definitely have more fun than the Republicans, who selected the hot spot of Tampa, Fla., for their 2012 convention. The Democrats still have not chosen a site, but have narrowed it down to four possible cities: Cleveland, Charlotte, Minneapolis and St. Louis.
Las Vegas seems the perfect choice for the Libertarian party, whose slogan advocates "Minimum Government, Maximum Freedom." Sin City probably offers the maximum freedom possible for political honchos. After all, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." What do you think of the convention scheduled for 2012? Will it provide a much-needed boost to the Las Vegas economy? Share your comments below.
