The population of Clark County, Nev., dropped by around 50,000 in 2010 compared to last year, according to the Las Vegas Sun. "People moved here for economic opportunity, so we expected them to leave when some of those opportunities ran out," said Jeremy Aguero, principal of Applied Analysis, to the Sun.
The state's demographic data shows Nevada lost 70,000 residents in one year, as thousands of people who lost their jobs moved to other states. Unemployment in Las Vegas hit 15% this year, as Sin City enters its fourth year of a recession. Have you seen friends and family move out of Las Vegas due to the recession?
