Labor Day weekend turned tragic when a small plane crashed on Morning Mauve Avenue yesterday morning. Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor told the Las Vegas Sun that the Piper Lance took off from Henderson Executive Airport but did not gain enough altitude to stay aloft.
Residents of the southeast Las Vegas Valley neighborhood pulled two people from the plane wreckage before police arrived, and also helped put out the fire with hoses and small fire extinguishers. One passenger in the plane died, while three others were injured and treated at local hospitals.
