It's a Snow Day for Las Vegas Schools

From Heather Rawlinson, About.com Guide   December 17, 2008

Follow me on:

With a decision that will probably be the only one of its kind that many Clark County School District students will ever experience, the Superintendent has closed schools tomorrow, December 18th, due to bad weather.

Teachers will also get the day off since a makeup day may be scheduled later in the year, but all office staff, 12-month employees, and administrators are expected to report.

Visit the school district website for further information.

I just went out there to the bus stop and waited about five minutes until a passerby told me there wasn’t school.

This is great. Wonderful, actually. I love thst this is how we in Vegas define snow. Then again, I’m near the air base and the snow isn’t sticking in this area. I guess it just hates us. Still, I’ve only seen snow three times in my sixteen-year life here. And I was asleep the second time.

Dear Vegas. Snow all the time, please.
