Fear and Layoffs in Las Vegas
Friday November 7, 2008
Times are tough all around and even Internet giants aren't immune to a declining economy. Online shoe giant Zappos.com, located in Henderson, announced today in a blog post that they're laying off 8% of their workforce. They're also considering closing some of their brick and mortar stores in Nevada and Kentucky.
CEO Tony Hsieh has assured laid-off employees two months of severance (more for employees who have been there three years or longer), as well as continuing health benfits.
